The Kwara state chapter of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) has called on Mothers to ensure exclusive breast feeding of their children for the first six months after birth in order to ensure sound health. This advice was contained in a statement signed by the Chairman of NMA Doctor Kunle Olawepo in commemorating 2016 World breast feeding week.
While noting that exclusive breast feeding is the only best food for babies in the first six months, Olawepo stressed further that Breast milk contains the appropriate nutrients required for the infant’s growth and development.
