Mining Society applauds Kwara governor over appointment of Dr Mohammed as SSA solid minerals development

The Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society (NMGS), an umbrella body of Geoscientists, Mining Engineers and professionals in the extractive sector of the Country has applauded the the Kwara state Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq over the appointment of Dr. Mohammed Abubakar Mohammed as Senior Special Assistant on Solid Minerals Development.

According to the association, Dr. Mohammed is the first professional to be appointed to serve in that capacity. the association appreciates His Excellency for his foresight at putting round pegs in the round holes.

The society equally recalls that Dr. Sikiru Ottan Abdulrahman, a thoroughbred Mining Engineer had earlier been appointed by His Excellency as the State’s MINERAL RESOURCES AND ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE (MIREMCO Chairman.

They noted that the appointment of Dr. Mohammed, therefore underscores the commitment of His Excellency towards turning around the fortunes of the State’s Solid Minerals Sector.

The Association assures the Governor of Kwara State of its readiness to support his programmes for the continued development of the Solid Minerals and Water Sector in the state and pray to God Almighty to help him continue to deliver the dividends of democratic governance to the people of Kwara State.
