Kwara records over thirty fire incidents in nineteen days

The Kwara state fire service has disclosed that it has recorded over thirty cases of fire incidents resulting from storage of petroleum products between first of January 2016 and today.
The Head of the department of Fire prevention of the service, Alhaji AbdulWaheed Yakub made this known while speaking at a stakeholders meeting on the means to eliminate sales of petrol at black markets in Kwara.
In his remark, the Operation Controller of the Department of Petroleum resources in Kwara, Mr. Philip Salvation said the activities of black marketers are outside jurisdiction of the department. He however solicited the cooperation of stakeholders for total elimination of the act in Kwara.
As reported by our correspondent Olarotimi Oshin, the meeting was attended by Petroleum Dealers, Security operatives, media and officials from the state Ministry of Commerce and Town planning.
