The 31st edition of the Media Parliament of Kwara State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) is holding in Ilorin, the state capital on Wednesday.
Themed “Changing the Dynamics of Governance Through Quality Legislation”, the event will be held at the NUJ Press Centre, Offa Road, GRA, Ilorin at 11am.
In a statement issued in Ilorin today, the Chairman, Kwara State Council of NUJ, Abdullateef ‘Lanre Ahmed, said the media parliament will feature the All Progressives Congress (APC) Candidate for Edu/Moro/Patigi Federal Constituency, Dr Ahmed Adamu Saba, as Guest Speaker.
The NUJ said the event was designed to critically identify and dissect some of the challenges bedeviling the society and proffer solutions for onward implementation of policy makers.
The statement noted that the theme of the 31st edition of the media platform was deliberately chosen to look at the place of parliament as an indispensable arm of the tripod of democratic institutions.
It added that such an occasion also affords media professionals a suitable platform to engage the Guest Speaker on his perspective to issues arising during the conversation.
