Kwara now realizes one point five billion naira monthly as revenue

Following the blockage of all revenue leakages in Kwara state and in a bid to stop over dependence in monthly allocation from the Federal Government, the state now realizes a sum of one point five billion naira monthly as internally generated revenue, IGR.
Governor Abdulfatal Ahmed, who disclosed this while speaking at a Cocktail of the Third Estate Club of the llorin emirate in llorin, the Kwara capital, said the revenue increased drastically from five hundred million naira which was formally generated before new IGR system.
The Governor, who blamed the present economic recession facing the country on failure to diversify the nation’s mono-economy, said his administration had put mechanism in place through revenue generation to address the problems.
As reported by our correspondent olarotimi oshin, the President of Third Estate, Alhaji Marine Kawu in his remarks noted that the deepening economy crisis remains the greatest worry to the club saying the social value of the community is being threatened.
