Meanwhile, the Police Management Team and the Police Service Commission have decided to suspend the ongoing screening exercise of policemen who acquired degrees/HND while in service.
The decision to suspend the exercise, according to a statement by ACP Olabisi Kolawole, Force Public Relations Officer, was based on allegation of malpractices going around. The statement said the Inspector General, Solomon E. Arase, dropped this hint during a meeting with the Police Management Team.
Arase further stated that the exercise was suspended after consultation with the Police Service Commission. The statement also said the Police High Command and Police Service Commission have decided to engage the services of independent assessor for neutrality and free exercise.
The IGP enjoined all qualified policemen to be patient and ensure they attend the oncoming screening exercise to be scheduled by the independent body. He assured that all qualified policemen would be considered appropriately.
