Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike has said he and his political allies will soon conclude talks on their preferred Presidential Candidate for the February 25th election.
But the Governor gave a clue on the direction of their discussion, saying the people of the State understood their political importance and would not play a second fiddle in the forthcoming poll.
The Nation newspaper reports that Wike spoke at Saint Martin’s Anglican Church, Omagwa Town, in Ikwerre where the Rivers Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) inaugurated their Local Government Campaign on Tuesday.
The Governor said Rivers people had been sensitised to vote the candidates of PDP for governorship, Senate, House of Representatives and House of Assembly.
He explained that the forthcoming elections would not leave the room for any form of electoral manipulation and intimidation from security personnel.
