He stated this when the leadership of markets across Kwara under the aegis of Kwara State Association of Marketers (KSAM) declared support for the Young Progressives Party (YPP) Governorship candidate, Waziri Yakubu Olayiwola Gobir for the 2023 general elections.
The leadership made the declaration when they met Gobir during a special meeting held at their State Secretariat in Irewolede, Ilorin. Gobir, who described marketers as important stakeholders in the governance of the state, emphasised that the visit was part of his statewide consultation ahead of the general elections.
He noted that the interaction with traders in the informal sector was strategic in reaching out to the grassroots across villages and communities.
He urged the women to vote for YPP candidates in the forthcoming election, from Governorship to Senate, House of Representatives, State House of Assembly,
The Iyaloja-General, Alhaja Adenike Lambe, assured Gobir of market leaders’ support for the party, pledging to mobilise members of their households and communities to vote en-masse for YPP in the state and at the federal election.
