download (12)UK Prime Minister, David Cameron has confirmed that Home Secretary, Theresa May will be the new Prime Minister when he tenders his resignation to the Queen on Wednesday.

Mrs May has been tasked with the responsibility of leading Britain into talks to leave the EU after her only rival in the race to succeed Mr Cameron pulled out unexpectedly.

May was left as the only contender standing after the withdrawal from the Conservative Party leadership race of Andrea Leadsom, who faced criticism for suggesting she is more qualified to be prime minister because she had children.

Mrs Leadsom, who campaigned to leave the EU, said the UK needs strong and stable government and that Mrs May is ideally placed to implement Brexit. Fifty-nine-year-old Mrs May who backed staying in the EU, said she is honoured and humbled to be taking over and pledges to make a success of the UK’s EU exit.
