Team Nigeria land in Rio for Paralympic games
Nigeria’s team to the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games has arrived in Rio, Brazil. A total of twenty-three athletes accompanied by twelve officials including medical personnel, helpers, loaders and team administrators arrived at the games village Sunday evening, the special adviser on media to the sports Minister Nneka Ikem-Anibeze revealed.
Six athletes will take part in Para athletics, fourteen in para powerlifting and three in para table tennis. Meanwhile, the Minister of Youth and Sports Solomon Dalung urges the team to compete fairly and be of good behaviour at the games. He also urges the athletes to comport themselves and allow officials accompanying them to resolve any crisis that may arise. The opening ceremony holds on Wednesday in Rio.
