Following the order of the National Industrial Court for the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to call off the ongoing Strike, Stakeholders have also pleaded with the union to obey the decision of the court and suspend its ongoing industrial action.
The plea was made by stakeholders and a concerned group under the aegis of Noble Youths Mass Support Association while speaking with journalists on Wednesday in Gwagwalada, Abuja.
In his remarks, The National Coordinator of the Noble Youths Mass Support Association, Godwin Onmonya said the strike is having negative impacts on students.
Similarly, a parent, whose child is studying veterinary medicine at the University of Abuja, Luka Ayuba said that the strike had made his son shift focus to other things.
However, the President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, Professor Emmanuel Osodeke lamented the decision of the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige to take the union to court while negotiations between both parties are ongoing.
