Small Scale Women Farmers in Kwara State have criticized the process of the citizen-engagement of the 2023 Budget presentation of the Kwara State Government.
It was recalled that the State Government organized a town hall meeting at Ilorin West Secretariat, Wara to engage with citizens for their input on the 2023 Budget.
Speaking during the town hall meeting, the State Coordinator for Small Scale Women Farmers Organization of Nigeria SWOFON, Anifowoshe Abosede Toyin expresses displeasure with the decision of the deputy governor, Kayode Alabi to leave without listening to the needs of the citizens present at the occasion.
While describing the needs of the small scale women farmers in Kwara State, Toyin said the women farmers want the government to provide them land for cluster farming to boost the agricultural process of the country.
She added that the women farmers also want the state government to provide grants for them and assist them with seeds, herbicides, insecticides during the farming season.
