The acting chairman of the sacked State Executive Committee (SEC) of Ekiti chapter of the People Democratic Party (PDP) Lanre Omolase has kicked against the dissolution of the SEC.
Omolase declared that National Working Committee(NWC) of the PDP lacked the power to sack party executives duly elected by delegates at the congress.
The National leadership of the party in a statement by the National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba on Friday dissolved the State Executive committee and constituted a caretaker committee led by Arch. Sodiq Obanoyen to run the affairs of the party for a period of three months.
The Nation newspaper reports that Omolase in a statement in Ado-Ekiti on Sunday declared that he remained the chairman of the party, stressing that the setting up of a caretaker committee to run the affairs of the party in the state was not only illegal but also premature.
