The House of Representatives committee on finance has questioned the Ministry of Finance over the failed Abuja CCTV project despite a four hundred and sixty million dollars loan taken from China to fund the project.
At a budget defence session with the ministry of finance on Thursday, chairman of the committee, James Faleke, said the ministry should explain to Nigerians why the CCTV is not working.
According to the lawmaker, any time Nigeria takes loan from China, the Chinese will come and do the job, bring all their equipment, the personnel and the goods and yet the country does not have value for the money, especially that of the CCTV.
While responding, Zainab Ahmed, minister of finance said Nigeria is servicing the loan, but she was unable to provide update on the CCTV project, noting that it would be best to question the FCT authority.
