The Governorship candidate of the New Nigerian Peoples Party in Kwara State, Professor Shuaib Oba Abdulraheem has vowed to reform the educational sector in the state if emerged governor in the 2023 polls.
The former vice chancellor of the university said one of the biggest problems battling the state is catering for the increasing population of the youth.
Speaking on News Rendezvous, a program on Royal FM, Professor Oba said if elected governor will name himself the Commissioner of Education to enable him to use his wealth of experience in the educational sector to turnaround the system in the state.
He said, if elected governor, his government is committed to bring governance closer to the community by restoring the Local Government Council.
Stating that he will bring back the Local Government Council, he said “bringing governance closest to the people, making them participants, I will bring back the local government councils and work on the education sector. I am a professional educationist and I know where and when to turn education around here. If I become the governor of Kwara State.I will make myself the commissioner for education,” he concluded.
