the Presidency has reacted to insinuations that President Muhammadu Buhari is condoning killings in Benue State and other parts of the country, describing it as unfair and unkind.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, in a statement made available to journalists in Abuja, said the President remains conscious of his responsibility to Nigerians and is determined to bring a permanent end to it.
While noting that the President is thinking beyond ethnic or religious factors as responsible for the crisis, he noted that the current population and demographic changes in Nigeria compared to years past has made it inevitable to experience such.
He however noted that the President is worried about the rampant false accusations which he described as unhelpful to the peaceful coexistence of the country.
