Peoples Democratic Party Drops Ayu, Appoints Damagum As Acting National Chairman

The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party has appointed Umar Damagum, to oversee the affairs of the party in acting capacity.
National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Debo Ologunagba, while announcing this at a press conference on Tuesday, at the party’s secretariat said that the Deputy National Chairman (North), Ambassador Umar Damagum will replace Iyorchia Ayu as the national chairman of the party.
Debo further stated that the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) took the decision while acknowledging the Order of the Benue State High Court with regards to the Chairmanship position of the Party.
He added that the National Working Committee of the party resolved that Ambassador Umar Damagum assumes the National Chairmanship of PDP in an acting capacity with effect from today, in line with Section 45 (2) of party’s Constitution (as amended in 2017).
In his remarks, Ambassador Umar Damagum appealed for cooperation from the party members.
