Pele’s visit to Nigeria cancelled

Football legend Edson Arantes do Nascimento popularly known as Pele will not visit Nigeria this month as earlier announced because of ill-health. Pele had withdrawn from the opening ceremony of the 2016 Rio Olympics citing health reasons.
Organizers of his proposed trip to Nigeria, the Winihin Jemide Series and the Youth Experience Days Africa apologized for the inconvenience in a statement and revealed that future dates will be announced as soon as Pele is fit to make the trip to Nigeria.
They also said their ticketing platforms will be offering a full refund on all tickets purchased. Pele, who recently got married to his long-time girlfriend has scored over one thousand goals in his playing career and won the World Cup with Brazil in 1954, 1962 and 1970.
