Olorunleke Ojo the goalkeeper of Giwa FC, will be available for selection in the side Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match day 14 clash against El Kanemi Warriors on Sunday. The Flying Eagles shot stopper is yet to play league match for the side after the Nigerians’ elimination in the round of 16 clash against Germany at the just concluded 2015 Fifa Under-20 World Cup in New Zealand.
Ojo said the club chairman gave him a week rest upon return from the World Cup hostilities as reasons he missed the side last two matches at champions, Kano Pillars and Dolphins.
“Of course, I’m fully back to training and will be available for selection in the match against El Kanemi Warriors on Sunday.“I actually wanted to join the side in their last two road trips at Kano Pillars and Dolphins but my chairman stepped in to graciously grant me a week to rest after the World Cup action in New Zealand.
“I’m happy to be back to my teammates, I tried to catch up with their performances over there in Germany and New Zealand and I must confess that they have performed creditably well in my absence.I will be happy to be handed a starting shirt against El Kanemi Warriors to add my own little quota to the team’s dream of a successful league season.
“However, I won’t see my choice and desire to feature in Sunday’s clash as do-or-die as the coaches have the final word.“My overall interest is to see the side campaign favourably among the mates as well as challenge for the title or earn a continental slot at the end of the season,” said Ojo.
