NUJ holds debate among Kwara Assembly candidates today

The maiden politcal debate of Kwara State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) will continue today (Thursday ) featuring candidates of political parties for the state House of Assembly.
The two days’ event, which ought to commence with appearance of candidates for National Assembly from the state could not proceed on Wednesday due to low attendance of invited candidates.
Three candidates such as Ibrahim Mohammed Ajia of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of Asa/Ilorin West Federal Constituency; Abdul Kayode Aiyelabegan of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) and Dauda Alaya of NNPP turned up for the event while others were nowhere to be found.
In a joint statement issued in Ilorin , the Chairman and Secretary of the NUJ Debate Committee, Mr. Olusegun Adeyemi and Prince Yemi Adurotoye respectively said the debate among candidates of political parties for the state House of Assembly will proceed today as scheduled.
