NPFL: Lobi Held At Home By Ikorodu United

download (9)Ikorodu United picked their first point under Dutch coach Theo de Jong after holding hosts Lobi Stars to a one-one draw in their rescheduled Nigeria Premier League week twenty-three clash at the Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi on Thursday. The result extends Lobi Stars’ unbeaten home streak in the NPFL to fifty-eight games.

The hosts went into the lead through their top scorer, Anthony Okpotu, three minutes before the break.

Kabir Balogun leveled scores for the Oga Boys in the fifty-eighth minute, ghosting past a Lobi defender and then slotting the ball past Chigozie Agbim.

The visitors were reduced to ten men in the sixty-sixth minute when Shedrack Francis was sent off for a cynical foul. Lobi Stars were awarded a penalty seven minutes from time which they failed to convert.

Relegation haunted Ikorodu United held on to record their second away point of the season.
