Nigerian Army concludes ‘Operation Crocodile Smile’ drill in Bayelsa creeks

The Nigerian Army training exercise code named ‘Operation Crocodile Smile’ has officially ended at Brass in Bayelsa State. The exercise was launched nearly two weeks ago, with the responsibility of traversing the South-South geo-political region.
The Minister of Defense, Retired Brigadier-General Mansur Dan Ali, while speaking at the closing ceremony on Sunday, says the exercise was aimed at enhancing operational effectiveness in the creeks. In his remark, the Chief of Army staff, Lieutenant- General Tukur Burutai, says the exercise has achieved tremendous results and improved the combat readiness of the troops. The Army Chief disclosed that several arms and ammunition have been recovered from criminals, while destruction of illegal refineries carried out during the operation will still continue.
