Niger Governor directs security agencies to ensure violence-free Local Government Election, Declare Thursday Work-Free day

Niger State Governor, Abubakar Bello has directed all security agencies in the state to ensure violence-free local government elections slated for tomorrow 10th of November 2022.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Ahmed Matane in Minna, saying the state government is committed to safeguarding and guaranteeing a hitch-free process.
According to the statement, the government has declared Thursday, public holiday to enable residents participate actively in the local government elections.
He noted that during the election period, markets and offices will be closed and the movement of persons and vehicles restricted, except for those on essential duties.
