Naira Scarcity: Kwara Residents Express Relief As Banks Dispense Cash

Following the directive of Central bank of Nigeria to commercial banks to load Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) with cash and conduct physical operations in the banking halls through the weekends, the persistence long queues in banks and naira scarcity in Kwara state has reduced as residents can now withdraw money at the ATMs with ease.
This was seen as some banks visited by RoyalFM correspondent in Ilorin, were not heavily crowded, unlike a few weeks ago when the redesigned and old naira notes were scarce across Nigeria.
A civil servant Mrs Oni recounted her joy that cash has begun to flow better than some weeks ago, adding that she was able to withdraw cash from ATMs over the weekend and today.
However, a Corps member Emmanuel Salami while expressing his relief towards the availability of cash stated that banks should allow citizens withdraw huge amounts at once, saying some banks are still shortening the highest amount to be withdrawn via the ATM.
