Messi in hamstring scare as Luis Suarez hat trick lifts Barca

Barcelona star Lionel Messi picked up a “small strain” on Sunday while Jordi Alba has been ruled out for ten days with a hamstring injury as Luis Suarez scored a hat-trick, thrashing ten-man Athletic Bilbao six-nil at camp Nou.
The visitors had goalkeeper Gorka Iraizoz sent off early on for bringing down the Uruguay forward, with Lionel Messi converting the penalty before he was forced off at half-time. Neymar chipped a second before half-time, with Suarez and Ivan Rakitic making it four-nil after the break. Suarez slotted in Arda Turan’s pass, then headed the sixth to leave Barca two points behind Atletico Madrid.
