Lagos Urban Music Festival set for Independence Day debut

The maiden edition of the Lagos Urban Music Festival is scheduled to hold at the Freedom Park, Lagos Island, on the first October, 2016 as part of plans to celebrate Nigeria’s fifty-sixth independence anniversary.images

The festival, which is being organized by the Performing Musicians Employer Association of Nigeria (PMAN) in partnership with the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture will give music and art lovers the opportunity to watch their favourite Nigeria artistes perform live on stage for free as over fifty artistes and ten Disc jockeys are expected to be on stage.

Among the list of artistes on parade are 2Face Idibia, M.I, Patorankin, DJ Humility, DJ Smooth amongst others.In his speech at the official unveiling of the project, PMAN president, Pretty Okafor, who guaranteed adequate security at the event, said the event will henceforth be celebrated annually to celebrate Lagos as a tourism destination.
