Lagos Government, Drivers Adjourn Meeting Till Friday, Strike Persists

The meeting of the Lagos State Government representatives with striking members of the Joint Drivers Welfare Association of Nigeria has been adjourned till Friday.

This is also as the Joint Drivers Welfare Association of Nigeria said its strike action also continues pending the Friday meeting.

The drivers disclosed that in a statement issued on Wednesday by the National Leader of the Joint Drivers Welfare Association of Nigeria, Abiodun Akintade, some hours after the drivers’ meeting with the state government.

He added that the government representatives during the meeting expressed sympathy for the drivers after hearing their situation and demand.

Akintade further stated that the state government demanded that the representatives of the National Union of Road Transport Workers and the Road Transport Employers Association be present in the next meeting to present their own sides of the story.

Akintade further stated that the meeting has been adjourned till Friday, November 4 by 12pm at the Alausa Secretariat.
