The Acting Vice-Chancellor of Kwara State University, Malete, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, has commended the Kwara State Government for promptly swinging into action to ameliorate the effect of subsidy removal on petrol on the people.
The Acting Vice-Chancellor gave this commendation against the backdrop of the State Government’s provision of free bus rides to convey staff and students to and from Kwara State University Malete and the reduction of work-days for staff of the State from five to three days.
Professor Jimoh who described the interventions as proactive and people-oriented added that Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has again hit the ground running, just a few days into his second term as Governor with policies and actions that have direct impact on the people.
Professor Jimoh stated that the interventions would go a long way in boosting the morale of the workforce and that of the students who would otherwise have had a difficult time bearing the effects of the increase in pump price of petrol.
While restating that the initiatives would encourage staff and students to put in more, the Acting Vice-Chancellor reaffirmed the commitment of the University to work for the advancement of the State.
