Following the postponement of the supposed gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections earlier slated for March 11th, 2023 by the independent electoral commission INEC the development has caused mixed reactions by the people of Kwara most especially within Ilorin metropolis.
It could be recalled that the electoral umpire shifted the election from March 11th to March 18th this year in a statement made available to newsmen, signed by the National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, INEC, Festus Okoye on Wednesday.
Royalfm Correspondent (Oyenuga Adetoro) while speaking with the resident of Kwara on the subject matter reported that people reacted to the just concluded presidential/senatorial elections as inconclusive because the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) was expected to display the results on the Viewing Portal (IREV) as earlier promised by the commission.
According to them, it’s clear that the postponement of the elections isn’t convenient especially for students whose academic and school activities have to be put on hold, and optimistic that INEC will do better having learnt from the past challenges.
