Kwara State: Anti-Narcotic Agency Burns 24.6 Tons Of Illicit Drugs

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA, has burnt 24.6 tons of illicit drugs, substance in Kwara State
Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq commended the NDLEA Chairman, Mohamed Buba Marwa and his team for their efforts to rid the country and Kwara State, in specific, of cases of drug addiction.
AbdulRazaq said that his administration would not relent in its partnership with the NDLEA, Kwara State Command, in checking the menace of drug abuse.
The Governor spoke in Ilorin at an event to destroy 24.6 tons of illicit narcotics, drugs and psychotropic substances, which were seized by the NDLEA, Kwara State Command.
 Royal Times reports that the State Commander of NDLEA, Ibrahim Saidu, in his remarks, said a total of 171 convictions have been secured on the seized drugs, describing it as a major achievement of the Agency.
Kwara State University Holds Valedictory Senate For Late Vice Chancellor, Appreciates Well Wishers for Support, Prayers During Demise
A valedictory Senate session in honour of the Late Vice Chancellor of Kwara State University, Professor Muhammed Mustapha Akanbi SAN was held Wednesday  November 30, 2022.
The Acting Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Shaykh Luqman Jimoh presided over the session with other Principal Officers, Deans of Faculties, Heads of Departments, and Directors of Academic Centers in attendance.
Meanwhile, the Chancellor, Governing Council, Management, Staff and students of Kwara State University, Malete have expressed profound appreciation to the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Malam Abdulrahman  Abdulrazaq and the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari for their unalloyed support during the trying  period of the demise of Vice Chancellor, Professor Muhammed Mustapha Akanbi SAN.
Royal Times reports that this was contained in an appreciation letter issued and signed by the Registrar of the institution, Dr. Kikelomo Sallee, and made available to reporters .
As captured in the letter, the University among others also appreciated the JAMB Registrar, Professor Is’haq Oloyede, the committee of Vice Chancellors, committee of Pro-Chancellors under the chairmanship of Mallam Ola Olu Ali SAN, the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Alhaji Muhammed Bashir, members of the State House of Assembly, and President and founder of Royal Media Group, Engineer.
