Kwara NUJ hails Governor Otu over appointment of Olanrewaju as Media Aide

The Kwara State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has applauded Governor Bassey Edet Otu of Cross River State over the appointment of a frontline Journalist, Rasheed Olanrewaju Zubair, as his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity.
The NUJ noted that the choice of Zubair, a Senior Correspondent with the African Independent Television (AIT) in Cross River State, is an affirmation that Governor Otu is a detribalized Nigerian.
In a statement, the Chairman, Kwara State Council of NUJ, Abdullateef ‘Lanre Ahmed, observed that the Zubair’s pick signposted a decision taken devoid of ethnic and religious sentiment.
Ahmed stated that Governor Otu has carved a niche for himself and would surely have his name properly chronicled in the book of history.
He urged other State Governors to walk their talks and demonstrate unity in diversity of the nation beyond the much touted lip service of one Nigeria agenda.
