Kwara Government To Complete Work On Osi, Ilesha-Baruba Campuses Of KWASU In December

The ongoing construction work on the two satellite campuses of Kwara State University in Osi and Ilesha-Baruba of Ekiti and Baruten Local Government Areas of Kwara State will be completed in December, 2022.

The state Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Dr Afees Abolore Alabi, made this known in Ilorin this evening while featuring on the 34th Media Parliament of the state council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).

The event was themed “Reinvigorating Tertiary Education: Any Hope for Kwara”.

The Commissioner disclosed that the state government has released over N500million for accreditation of courses in the state owned tertiary institutions.

He also informed that the his ministry had written the state government seeking an approval to increase annual bursary allowance to students of the state origin from N5,000 to N10,000.

In his welcome address, the state NUJ Chairman, Abdullateef ‘Lanre Ahmed, decried paucity of funds in tertiary education subsector and called for institution of an endowment fund.
