Jurgen Klopp has signed a new six-year deal with Liverpool exactly nine months after being appointed as manager of the Merseyside club. The German, who was announced as Brendan Rodgers’s successor on the eighth of October last year, has committed his future to the Reds until 2022.
His trusted assistants, Zeljko Buvac and Peter Krawietz, have also extended their contracts. The club’s owners, Fenway Sports Group, initiated the negotiations after seeing enough evidence that Klopp can turn around Liverpool’s fortunes.
He led the side to two finals during his debut season in English football, while resuscitating their famous atmosphere and restoring belief on the pitch, as well as in the stands.
