The Kwara State Government has assured the Adult Education Sector and Vocational Skill Acquisition, under the Agency for Mass Education of a new turn around, progression and qualitative service delivery in the State.
The Special Advisers to the Governor on Adult Literacy, and that of Vocational Matters, (Central), Dr. AbdulGaniy Ayub and Mallam AbdulRasheed AbdulSalam, dropped this hint during their familiarization visit to the Agency Headquarters in Ilorin.
Dr. Ayub, who said Adult Education is one of the priorities of the Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led administration, noted that without everyone being literate, the state will be devoid of the expected development.
As reported by our correspondent Olarotimi Oshin, the Acting Executive Director of the Agency, Mallam Yusuf Saka had earlier disclosed that the agency is an avenue for government to train the youths and adults in literacy education and vocation, in order to lift them up from the shackles of poverty and ignorance.
