Fuel, cash scarcity: Protesters barricade Benin-Lagos expressway in Ore, Ondo state

The scarcity of fuel and naira notes that have disrupted the socio-economic activities of Nigeria, residents of Ondo State in Ore Local Government Area on Tuesday protested over the development.
The resident who appeared visibly frustrated over the lingering situation barricaded the busy Ore-Benin expressway. They lamented that the situation has had a severe impact on their livelihood.
Travellers who were caught in the gridlock have been stranded for hours as the protesters vowed not to open up the road.
Meanwhile, Some youths in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital also protested over the hardship caused by their inability to access the new naira notes and petrol.
The crisis, according to report, was ignited at a branch of GTbank in the Asero area of Abeokuta, where customers had queued since 4am but could not withdraw cash.
It was gathered that the protesters had attempted to attack the GTbank but they were repelled by the Police following a prompt intervention.
