FG unveils “low-key” activities for fifty-sixth Independence Anniversary

The Federal government has unveiled activities lined up for the nation’s fifty-six independence anniversary on the first of October.
A statement issued by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal said the celebration which will be low-key will begin with an inter-denominational Thanksgiving Church Service, to be held on Sunday, the twenty-fifth of September, 2016 by 4.00 pm at the National Worship Centre, Abuja.
Public Lecture and Jummaat Prayers will also hold on Friday, the thirtieth of September, 2016 at the National Mosque, Abuja.
While the two events above are open to members of the public, the Presidential Change of Guard which is scheduled for Saturday, the first of October by 3.00 pm at the Forecourt of the Presidential Villa, State House, Abuja is strictly by invitation.
