FEMI TUNDE OKUNLOLA
Femi Tunde Okunlola hails from Oyo state, and speaks English and Yoruba fluently. The graduate of English from the Olabisi Onabanjo University Ago Iwoye, one time head boy, and winner of the “face of English graduating set award” 2009 at the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ogun state has always had a passion for public speaking. In his own words:
“There comes a time when you see patient eyes light up from understanding something you just said and then you think to yourself ‘goodness. There are a million people who don’t know this. I want to be the one to help pass that knowledge.”
This passion to change the world, through the power of words found an outlet in radio, a profession he humorously says “chose him”. The dark skinned Brutha can be heard on the breakfast show segments: ‘wake up and live’, ‘speak now naija (9am-10am), ‘who did it better: tues and thurs (10am-11am), and on the programme ‘real talk’ every Wednesday 8pm-8:30. With a voice listeners refer to as smooth, soothing and naturally effected (hey don’t hate. that’s what they say), this broadcaster’s dream to take over the world might well have started.
Femi has a great weakness for beautiful things (don’t we all) he loves music, the movies, great books, and meeting knowledgeable people (life’s worth living with these he says). His philosophy on life, Life’s too short, live it on your own terms.
