In the meantime, the Minister of State for Petroleum, Ibe Kachukwu has said that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari will henceforth introduce trackers to track criminal diversion of petroleum products from the point of distribution.
Kachukwu made the disclosure yesterday while speaking at a Town Hall meeting organized alongside five other ministers with residents of South West geo-political zone, in Lagos.
Speaking on the challenges confronting his ministry, Kachukwu said the lingering fuel scarcity had been exacerbated by the diversion of crude oil products to neighboring countries like Chad and Cameroun.
The minister urged Nigerians to report cases of fuel diversion, adding that the task of tackling fuel scarcity cannot be left to the government alone.
