Federal Government Empowers, Trains Forty Farmers Against Flood Impact In Kwara

The Kwara State Agricultural Development Project Office (KWADP) has again trained and empowered 40 farmers and field extension agents with agricultural tools and starter pack inputs for effective modern farming practices.

The training which was organised by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD) through the Federal Department of Agricultural Extension Services in partnership with the Kwara State Government is to enlighten the farmers and extension officers on Climatic Resilient Practices in Maize Production.

The representative of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD), Mrs. Raheem Adejoke said the training was organised to empower Youths, Women and some extension agents and to also prepare them against flood as predicted by Nigeria Meteorological Agent (NiMet).

While speaking at the training workshop, the State Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Mallam Gidado AbdulLateef Alakawa, represented by the Director of Agriculture Services, Mallam Alhassan Kabir Mohammed said the present administration is prioritizing empowerment of farmers to enhance their efficiency via capacity building in order to make them self-sufficient in providing for their needs.
