Federal government assures Kwara residents of federal roads construction

The Minister of Power,Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola has expressed the federal government’s commitment towards making its roadsmotor able as part of efforts to meet theexpectations of Nigerians.
Fashola disclosed this during a courtesy visit paid the Kwara state Governor Abdulfatal Ahmedat the Government House,Ilorin.According to the Minister, at least six federal roads includingIlorin–Jebba–Mokwa Road, Offa bye pass,Ajasse-Ipo, Offa-Erin-Ile Road, and Kishi-Kaiama roads are at different stagesof construction.
He saidAfon-Aboto road that connects Kwara toOyo State, Ilori-Omu-Aran-Egbe in
Kogi State road, Share-Patigi road, Patigi Egon road as well as Ohan andMoro bridges are captured in the 2016federal budget for construction.
Fashola advised state governments toensure better synergy with FederalController of Works in their states in orderto ensure smooth operation inroad rehabilitation and construction.The Kwara State Governor in his remarks commended the federalgovernment’s intervention in thereconstruction of federal roads across thestate, describing the initiative the first in the last sixteen years in theState.
