Entrench democracy, Association tells INEC, FG

National Association of Seadogs (NAS), also known as Pyrates Confraternity, has urged Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and Federal Government to seize the opportunity of the 2023 general election to entrench democracy in the country, advising that it should be what President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration bequeaths Nigerians.
The association made the call at the weekend in Port Harcourt, Rivers State during the commemoration of United Nations World Democracy Day.
Guardian reports that Spokesperson for Barrakuda X Deck, Port Harcourt Zone 2, Ejiro Akudihor, who noted that education and freedom of speech are hallmarks of every society to sustain a democratic system, advised the government to emphasise voter education and to be tolerant.
