The Majority leader of the House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila has said the eighth assembly has passed three hundred and twenty-seven bills between June and December 2015. Gbajabiamila said this in Lagos while addressing journalists on the activities of the eighth assembly in Lagos.
He said this was against one hundred and thirty-two similar bills that were presented within the first six months of the seventh assembly.
Gbajabiamila added that from the three hundred and twenty-seven bills, two hundred and sixty-four had passed through first reading and awaiting second reading while forty other bills had been referred to committees.
He said the bills and motions sponsored and passed are meant to address the issues of insecurity, unemployment, economic reform, reform in the oil and gas sector of the economy, among others.
He noted that this is a clear demonstration of the House’s resolve to make laws and embark on legislative activities for the good governance of Nigeria.
