ASUU Strike: Students Expresses Excitement With Court Decision, Calls On Federal Government To Fulfil Promise

The National Association Of Nigerian Students NANS has expressed excitement with the decision of the National Industrial Court to order the Academic Staff Union of Universities to call off the lingering Strike.

Speaking after the ruling of the court, the president of the association, Usman Umar, however, called on the Federal Government to fulfil its own part to avoid subsequent even.

However, the Council Of the Federal Government, James Igwe applauded the ruling of the court, saying it is a recognition of the fundamental role that education play in national development.

The Council Of the Academic Staff Union Of University said the union will study the ruling of court with the legal team before deciding on the next action.

Following the order from the National Industrial Court to the Academic Staff Union of Universities to halt the ongoing industrial action, the Management of Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti has directed the resumption of full academic activities with effect from Thursday, 22nd  of September and round-off lectures for the second semester of the 2020/2021 academic session.

In a press statement issued by the Head, Directorate of Information & Corporate Affairs in the Institution , Bode Olofinmuagun stressed that the second-semester examination for the 2020/2021 academic session will be held between Monday, 24th October and Saturday, 5th November 2022.

Meanwhile, lectures for 100-level students admitted for the 2021/2022 academic session will commence on Monday, 3rd October 2022.
