As schools resume for the new academic calendar in Kwara state today, the president of the Kwara state chapter of the National association of proprietors of private schools NAPPS, Dr. Temitope Ajibola has appealed to all parents to be security conscious by ensuring proper monitoring of their children.
Speaking with Royal Times, the NAPPS president said in light of the recent security challenges in the country, it is important that all schools and parents have adequate conversations on security improvement and measures.
He urged parents to always drop their kids inside the school, behind the school gate not at the gate, noting that Many kids walk home and some play or loiter outside the school gates.
Meanwhile, the Kwara state police command has assured parents, school owners, and public schools of adequate security as schools resume in the state.
The police public relation officer, SP Ajayi Okasanmi who stated this said the command has limited officers but will do her best to ensure peace in the state.
