Al-Hikmah University inducts seventeen graduates as members and fellows of African institute of public health professionals

As the Al-Hikmah University today inducted seventeen of her graduates as members and fellows of the African institute of public health professionals, an appeal has gone to public health practitioners to concentrate on the health management and wellbeing of aging people in the society.
The Director centre for wellness and creative art therapy, Kwara state University, Malete , Dr. Khadijat Toyin Musah who was the main speaker at the event made the call at the annual induction and oath taking ceremony of associate , fellows and members of African institute of public health professionals by the inducted of public health practitioners of the Al-Hikmah University.
Speaking on the theme of the event ” aging in digital era , the role of public health practitioner” Dr. Musah called on public health to adapt themselves with Information and Communications Technology noting that health management has gone digital. She noted that there are lots of apps on phones that can be used in health management at present day of digitization.
While calling on the newly inducted public health practitioners of the Al-Hikmah University to learn more on digitization methods of handling aging peoples, Dr Musah noted that old age now begins from fifty-five while health problems begin early this day such as diabetic, Arthritis among others .
She warns aging people to be mindful of what they eat, saying eating without caution could lead to serious health problems.
“The issue of aged population has been discussed and I have also mention the democratic profile. Its gladdens my heart that Nigeria now have a policy for aged citizens. The policy was rectified in 2021 and presented to President Muhammadu Buhari.
“There are a lot of documentation that deals with the way aged people manage themselves in the society. Some people might not be aware, some might, but it is good to have the document at your disposal. Digitalization is the process of conversion of information into a digital format, the result is the representation of an object, image, and others.
“There is need for us to continue to enlighten them on the treatment protocols which they can have access to on the application. Also there is need to warn them to be careful with what they eat and do during this stage of their lives.
In his speech , the vice chancellor of the Al-Hikmah University, Professor Noah Yusuf who congratulated the newly inducted public health practitioners urged them to showcase the good name of the school wherever they found themselves.
“Our inductees take our (the school) flag all over the world. Please whatever you do in your professional service remember Almighty Allah, the foundation of the school is on Him.
