Aggrieved Senator Says Governor AbdulRazaq Lacks Capacity to Govern Kwara

Written by on September 5, 2022

An aggrieved Kwara Central Senator who failed to secure a return ticket during the last primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara state has clearly re-stated his commitment to work for the success of Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the poll.

Senator Ibrahim Oloriegbe who represents kwara central and doubles as Chairman, Senate Committee on Health stated this at the weekend in Ilorin during a reception organised for him by his family members and supporters.

Oloriegbe, who had been away since he lost the APC Kwara Central senatorial ticket to the former National chairmanship aspirant of the APC, Mallam Saliu Mustapha, also noted that his position regarding the conduct of the APC primaries in Kwara State remains the same.

He faulted the manner the primaries were conducted, accusing Governor Abdulrazaq of hijacking the process and directing the delegates to vote for his preferred aspirants.

It is recalled that the federal lawmaker had in June, 2022, during his appearance on Channels Television programme monitored by Royal FM, categorically blamed Governor Abdulrazaq for his inability to secure the party’s ticket for his second term in the National Assembly.

Meanwhile, in what looked like reaction to Senator Oloriegbe’s outburst, Saliu Mustapha who emerged the APC Senatorial candidate for Kwara Central District at the primary election, says the result reflected the wishes of the party’s stakeholders and members in the district.

Mustapha also cautioned party leaders against utterances in public places that could derail the modest gains already made at the State and national levels.
