Acting Inspector-General of Police Disbands Edo Police Team For Running Over Man

The Acting Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun has ordered the immediate disbandment of the team of Police officers from the Edo State Command responsible for running over a citizen at Ekpoma.
Recall that the Acting Inspector General Of Police, last Friday, summoned the erring of the police officers, who handcuffed a middle-aged man and dragged him through the road in Ekpoma, Edo State.
In a statement on Thursday by the Force Spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, the Inspector General of Police ordered the disbandment of the unit in the state, noting that the step aims to regularize and standardize police operations in the axis; and restore public trust in the Police Force.
While explaining that the actions were taken to demonstrate that the Force frown on such behavior, the acting IGP reiterated his commitment to ensuring the highest standards of professionalism and ethics while urging members of the public to always cooperate with Police Officers in the discharge of their statutory duties.
