The Nigeria Police Force, Edo Command have commenced forensic investigation into the recent discovery of over twenty Dead bodies discovered in a Shrine at Asoro area of Ekenwan Road, Benin City.

It is recalled that the police uncovered a shrine in a building along Asoro slope, off Ekenhuan road, in Uzebu quarters, Benin where twenty mummified bodies were recovered.

According to the Public Relations Officer, Edo State Police Command, SP Chide Nwabuzor, the homicide unit of the command is collaborating with the Edo State Ministry of Health to uncover the truth.

The Police Spokesperson added that the owner of the shrine escaped from the day the location was discovered, noting that the security operatives are still searching for him.
