The Kwara South All Progressive Congress elders Council has frowned at the planned recall of Senator representing Kwara South Senatorial Constituency, AbdulRafiu Adebayo Ibrahim.
The Kwara South Unity forum which initiated the move had accused the lawmaker of doing the bidding of a political leader and not that of the people. They also said the constituency has not benefitted meaningfully from the Senator.
But in a statement signed by representatives from all the local government under the constituency, under the acting chairmanship of Honourable Kola Yusuf, the APC elders described the move as surprising and unfortunate.
They disputed the claim that he is submissive to a boss, adding that his consultation with the state political leader, Dr Bukola Saraki just the way he consults with political leaders and people in his constituency, should not be misinterpreted as weakness.
Highlighting some of his achievements in office, the elders warned against any move that could jeopardize the peace and growth being enjoyed under Senator Ibrahim.
