April 11 poll: Be ready for a surprise, Enugu PDP tells APC

A former governorship aspirant of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Hakeem Lawal, has promised to sustain the virtues of his late father, Alhaji Mohammed Lawal, a former governor of Kwara state. Hakeem stated this on the sideline of a posthumous award conferred on his demised father by the Ilorin Emirate Descendant Progressive Union (IEDPU), in Ilorin.

While fielding questions from journalists, Hakeem said he felt elated by the recognition from the IEDPU, coming nine years after the death of his father, adding that posterity has judged the late governor right.

He disclosed that about one hundred unemployed Kwara youths will benefit from a free training program with Cisco certification in computer, under the auspices of US-based Rockerfeller foundation, saying this is aimed at making the youths self-reliant.

Hakeem then promised to continually build on his father’s legacies especially in philanthropism, with the guidance of leaders in the society.
